Bridge Traffic Update

Good Afternoon Homeowners,

We have received notice from the City regarding changes to the traffic pattern and lights around the bridge.

Their summary: "We have worked with TXDoT over the last several days to come up with an improved traffic safety plan for the Key Allegro Bridge project. Originally, the contractor expected a need to use a section of Fulton Beach Road for equipment and materials; however, they have determined a way around that, allowing that part of the roadblock to be removed shortly.

In the next few days a third traffic signal will be deployed to allow southbound traffic on Fulton Beach Road to continue south onto Broadway or to turn left onto Bay Shore Drive and the bridge. Northbound traffic on Broadway will also be able to continue north on Fulton Beach Road or to turn right onto Bay Shore Drive. The Lakeview entrance into Harbor Oaks will remain closed for traffic safety reasons and the barricades and concrete barriers will also remain. The third signal will add approximately 40 seconds to the overall cycle between the three traffic signals but it will eliminate the detours through residential areas and the several minutes they take.

TXDoT and the contractor are aware of the heavy traffic expected in the area for Independence Day weekend and working diligently to implement the new plan before Friday.

"Please bear with the City and TXDoT while they make modifications to the traffic and construct the bridge.

All the best, Lynn Powers KACPOA President
